ITINERARIES & DESTINATIONS
We have publicly presented all of our Itineraries and Destinations. Use of sub or full sets of our destinations (itineraries), unless clearly proven it was your preexisting commercial tour, whether as a standard or customized Journey, by other providers free/paid in any similar manner/theme/topic/title to Mountain Man Journeys or its portfolio of subsidiary websites or businesses, will be vigorously defended to the fullest extent of the law, which can include a penalty of $150,000 or higher.
There are certain existing itineraries, for example, the popular stops on a John Wilkes Booth Tour, that are based on the historical record. We do not claim ownership in such a case. We usually have expanded upon these in unique ways, which then becomes the substance of Copyright in this case.
We also obviously do not own individual Destinations. It is the packaging, promotion, arrangement and other creative aspects that are the substance of Copyright in this case.
FAIR USE
Defined as brief excerpts of copyright material may, under certain circumstances, be quoted verbatim for purposes such as criticism, news reporting, teaching, and research, without the need for permission from or payment to the copyright holder. This never includes any full or subset of the destinations we visit; this is the heart and soul of our business and will be prosecuted.
