Bring Your Own Vehicle
Most of our Journeys allow you to bring your vehicle. For example, if someone has disabilities, bring an approved animal, have too many people for an Ecotour Vehicle, or want to come early or late to the Journey. The following requirements apply when bringing your own vehicle:
- They must be arranged at least two weeks in advance of departure.
- A copy of a current Driver’s License must be provided for each driver.
- A copy of your current insurance policy must be provided for that vehicle.
- You must sign a liability waiver for all parties in the vehicle, holding Mountain Man Journeys harmless.
- For multi-day Journeys, Mountain Man Journeys must be named as “an additional insured” on your auto policy.
- Your auto policy must name the driver(s).
- “Minimal” auto policies are not acceptable. During the Journey, a minimum of $300,000 for Liability for bodily injury, $25,000 Liability for property damage, $25,000 Medical payments, $100,000 PIP
- No driver may be under 21, and must have a clean driving record.
- Your vehicle must be in good condition and appropriate for all parts of the planned Journey (such as off-road).
- Mountain Man Journey personnel cannot service/repair, tow, provide monies, tools or work on your vehicle during the Journey.
- You must never be visibly impaired or intoxicated from any substance to operate a vehicle during the Journey/Tour.
- Non-family guests should not travel along in your car during an active Journey.
